Rafael “Pollo” Brito was born on November 14, 1971, in Caracas, Venezuela. He is a renowned musician, cuatro player, composer and singer with a distinguished career promoting traditional Venezuelan music. He began his musical studies with the National Youth Orchestra of Miranda State, specializing in the oboe, and later trained in string instruments such as the cuatro, mandolin, bass and guitar. He was a member of ensembles Saúl Vera y su Ensamble, Grupo Arcano and Maragaita, and has become one of the most influential performers in the gaita genre. He made his solo debut in 2005 with “Una casita bella para ti” and has since released numerous albums, including De repente alongside C4 Trío, which earned him a Latin Grammy in 2014. Brito has collaborated with renowned artists such as Oscar D’León, Armando Manzanero and Lena Burke, among others. He has also served as a television host and talent-show judge. In 2025, he announced his international tour De Vuelta al Origen, reaffirming his commitment to sharing Venezuelan music with the world. This concert will be performed in Spanish.
